Staff are the key to this success
Reviewed By CPH19592013We stayed at this inn with rooms for two nights and were joined by our family and friends. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped and spacious, the food is well above average and we loved the ‘old signs’ themed decor. But what brings this inn up to a 5 star rating is the staff. We were welcomed by Ella and throughout our stay she was friendly, helpful and in fact nothing was too much trouble. India and Esther served us breakfast with efficiency and humour and Kirsty was calm, efficient and speedy serving us for dinner. Behind the scenes Toby ( and probably other chefs) were cooking some fantastic food and generally we felt well looked after and pampered. One small thing, some of our party would have loved some fruit or yoghurt for breakfast. Certainly we would return again if only for a pint of Hedge Monkey!

Reviewed By Leebobs13We spent 2 nights at the Old Down and absolutely loved it! Nothing was too much trouble for Maxine and her team. Above and beyond service, super friendly staff, very dog friendly, a stunning and spacious double room, and great location for our trip to visit family in the West Country. Dinner and breakfast were faultless and prices very reasonable. Lots of variety on menu. Peewee the parrot greets you at the front door and adds to the wonderful warm and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely stay again and highly recommend this place for food and accommodation. Thanks so much to all the team for making our weekend so enjoyable .. Leanne & Tom and Chester & Tali xx

Awful.....
Reviewed By Lisa-DominicWe arrived after our selected time which came as a shock to the owner, they were clearly not ready for us and not particularly friendly. Didn't even ask our names. The room had not been cleaned, carpet hadn't been hoovered, dirty toilet, sink and shower. We wiped all surfaces ourselves before putting anything down. Stained tea cups. Dirty old chair in the room. Very weak WiFi even though it is advertised as fast. Breakfast was a loaf of bread in the fridge, a yoghurt and small of packets of cereal, we did not eat any of it. Would def not recommend or ever stay here again!

Reviewed By skippy833We booked this last minute as were in Bath to take my parents-in-law for a pre cruise Covid test and needed somewhere to eat. We just searched on phone pubs near Radstock as we drive through there on way home and up came the Fromeway . What can we say apart from what a gem this place is . The food is just delicious and such good quality . The decor and ambience perfect and staff so friendly of his family run pub of many years . We can’t can recommend this place highly enough . We will be back . Thank you

18thCentury Detached Period Farmhouse standing within its own gardens and grounds extending to 1.6 acres... 3 beautiful suites all elegantly furnished and decorated with private bathrooms. Hot tubs are available for relaxing , personal guided cycle tours available to book separately
Mixed fortunes
Reviewed By Al192910Large warm homely house with comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen . Big garden. Owner unhelpful over broken glass which we discovered on arrival scattered around patio area where hot tub was sited and did not arrange for this to be removed nor provide any equipment for us to sweep up. We had small children with us so this was a real risk. Towels musty. Lots of domestic clutter in cupboards presumably belonging to Owner including lots of medication for both humans and animals in kitchen cupboard. Did not provide logs as advertised and had to bring own. Also there is no high chair available even though this was also included in advert. Owner not helpful over provision for rubbish and recycling disposal.

The lodges are spotlessly clean.. and the lodge is comfy and well equipped.. the surrounding area is blissfully quiet and your evenings outside on the deck watching the wildlife is just heaven .. lovely local pub “ The Bell Inn” great food and a warm welcome… perfect location to discover lots of great days out with the family.. we love it there and can’t wait to return..
