If you are traveling with children in the Nürnberg area, it's worth it to head over to the Fürther Stadt Park. Big play spaces with basket swings and climbing trees for grade school and older kids, as well as a play area with sand and toys for the little ones, this park also has the Stadt Park Cafe to relax with coffee and cake or a light meal after a long stroll.

It is nice to sit outside, eating some gelati or drinking some Spritz, the Michaelis church is nearby to visit, also small shops (no branch or affiliated shops), ver cute to visit also the nearby Gustavstrasse, often you see mums with children, taking them from school or kindergarden, There are wonderful statues and fountains. It is like a little village in a larger city.

I took a few hours from my Nuremberg stay to visit Furth in December. Right when you get off of the train there was a really cool little Medieval Christmas Market next to the main Christmas Market. The vendors are in costumes from the period, there was a blacksmith, different food choices. It was just a really nice alternative to the other Christmas Markets that for the most part of very similar. Enjoy!
