Natures Treat Homestay

Superb hospitality

Nature’s Treat was such a wonderful place to stay at whilst I was in Tansen. It’s a simple place but my bedroom was comfortable. Nice hot water shower. Decent Wi-Fi. Great views from the rooftop terrace. The real X factor was the level of hospitality by the hosts and their family. It was exceptional. They really looked after me well and dished up some fantastic meals. I can’t speak highly enough of them.

overpriced rooms

The only thing i loved was location. Rooms are over priced for such amenities. They tried to charge us extra for breakfast even after being told(while checking in) that rooms include free breakfast. They didn't have basic domestic liquors and deluxe beers, they even had a very limited number of strong beers. However the staffs were very polite.

We intended just to stop in Tansen for a night to break up the long journey from Bardiya but ended up staying here longer. The family are really welcoming and had loads of local knowledge about the area and suggestions for places to hike and things to see nearby. Room was comfortable with hot water and a nice area to sit outside.

Hotel The Ranimahal

Touch and Go

Reviewed By bongo12015

We booked 3 rooms and stayed here for one night in between travelling from Pokhara to Butwal. Arrived late at night and could not find the entry as it was on a dark gravel road. Upon checking in, the room doors were locked with padlocks instead of a key handle door and the rooms were also old with no amenities including kettles, cups and only had 1 towel supplied in each room. The beds were as hard as slate and the bathrooms were very dirty and no hot water leaving us to take cold showers. We had dinner in the restaurant which was sufficient however because they had no coffee decided to go up the road to another hotel for breakfast which was great food and service and had amazing views of Palpa and also had a barista coffee machine. The staff at our hotel were warm and friendly and the Hotel is situated on a hill and is very quiet but unfortunately we won't be staying here again.

Hotel Bajra

No water for two days.

Reviewed By Katja S

Well, this was a terrible experience. We came to this hotel and the price was ok, Rs450. The room was ok, just a budget room but the air was nice and cool (after the hot and dirty India everything seemed nice :)). Couple of boys were running the hotel. they were nice and smiling but didn't speak very good english. One bed shhet was dirty and they came to change it, but for another less dirty one. But the biggest problem was the water. On the first day we had to wait for 7 hours to get the running water. At first we got buckets of dirty water and when we threatened them we will leave the hotel, they turned it on for one hour. On the second day we went trekking for the whole day. And of course, no water. Imagine a toilet without any water! We tried nice, friendly, angry, everything. We still had to take 'a shower' from the bottle of water (it was too late to change the hotel at that time). We gave them Rs300 for the second day, they wanted the full price but we just took off. Our theory was that the hotel was empty and they didn't want to fill the water tank but still. Fair is fair.
