Walton Park Hotel

The Walton Park occupies a stunning cliff top location and is charmingly nestled in two acres of landscaped gardens overlooking the Severn Estuary and Welsh Hills. Originally built in the late 19th century, the Walton Park has been sympathetically restored and has now developed into Clevedon's Premier Hotel. Guests can wine and dine in the Victorian splendour of the award-winning Somerset Restaurant and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets over the Celtic coastline. The spacious, lavishly equipped bedrooms, the majority with magnificent views over the Bristol Channel, are individually designed and furnished to a high standard and all complete with freeview colour TV, and complimentary WiFi.

Faulty Towers-esque hotel but very recommended

Reviewed By derbyshirenomad

A business stay for a week at the hotel. To start with, it does have a faint air of Faulty Towers but only in a positive way. The staff are very good and from what I can tell have worked there for quite some time, which can only be a good sign. I had a room overlooking the main road which was not too noisy. The room’s facilities were acceptable though it definitely needs some TLC. The bar is well stocked and I had one meal at the restaurant that was quite pricey for quite ordinary standard food. Breakfast is quite limited but it is cooked fresh to order which is refreshing. The main advantage of the hotel are the lounges with stunning views across the Severn and its location. Perched right on the cliff edge provides wonderful opportunities for coastal walks all the way to Portishead if that pleases you. The main area of Clevedon is only a 10 minute walk and I have the say the array and quality of the restaurants is exceptional. I would happily return to the hotel and do intend to do so.

The Star Inn

The Star Inn is a family run establishment which is now under new management. We are able to offer a large spacious secure garden, with a children's play area. Along with a fully secure car park. Unfortunately at the moment we are unable to offer any food due to the kitchen being closed. We hope that we will be able to reopen the kitchen as soon as possible.

Horrendous

Stayed on a Brit stop at this pub. Food was absolutely horrendous wouldn’t have fed it to a dog. Decking outside pub is a total trip hazard falling to bits. Pub is dirty. People shouting and swearing outside. Never again. Avoid like the plague.

Terrible accommodation, please avoid

We stayed here last September for a week. The first nights sleep was terrible as the springs were jutting through the mattress. I complained to the reception. It was over 24 hours later and after complaining more than once that she finally decided we could change rooms. This wasn’t the only problem we had with this place. During our weeks stay our rooms weren’t cleaned at all. Our towels were getting smelly by the end of the week. The rubbish bin was overflowing. I had to wash the glasses and cups myself. I had to go and ask for toilet rolls. Once home I sent an email to the manager rather than just putting up a bad review, as I felt this was a better way of discussing the problems we had experienced. The receptionist replied saying he was away. She assured me he would reply when he was back. He never replied. A few of my complaints were about her so I presume he never saw my email.

We decided to give this place another try as the location was convenient. In the comments I did request a decent mattress because of my back problems. I received a reply saying all their mattresses are the same. I replied stating the previous years mattress problem.

Then I received another message to say that our accommodation has been cancelled and we have been blacklisted.

I cannot believe this. I have stayed in many hotels and never had to complain at all and definitely never been blacklisted. Warrens Village do have many problems as most people will see if they look at the reviews. Obviously they don’t like the truth. I have since tried contacting the manager by email to discuss this matter, but have still not had a reply. Not professional at all.
Avoid Warrens Village. It is just not worth it
