ChaloHoppo

“You fear what you don’t understand”, and many people, most people don’t understand Northeast India. We believe that travel can make a difference in uplifting such disconnected parts through the creation of authentic local experiences. Our trips ensure that as a traveller you get to soak in the essence of the place and its people through the inclusion of small details like eating from a local shop, plucking fresh fruits and even learning to make local recipes. These experiences come to life through the group leader aka ChaloHoppo Guys(girls). The ChaloHoppo Guy is crucial to the tours organised by ChaloHoppo as he/she has personally been to these parts before and knows his way around with the locals and the place. And here’s the last word, ‘being responsible doesn't have to be boring! Let's have fun, while travelling responsibly.’

Kaziranga National Park

Reviewed By Tissa010 - Rotterdam, The Netherlands

If you want to see rhinos once in your life, your best bet is to go to Kaziranga. It's a long way to travel (2 hour flight from Delhi, 5 hour drive) but absolutely worth it. The park is next to the mighty Brahmaputra river, which can cause a fog in the early morning, and has 3 main entrances. If you stay for 2 days you'll see all 3 parts which aren't interconnected by roads. You'll see dozens of rhinos, especially in the western part. Furthermore we saw elephants, wild water buffaloes (mostly east part), barasingha (aka swamp deer), hornbills, owls, pelicans, eagles, indian rollers and many other birds, turtles, hog deer and many other species. There are tigers in the park, but you have to be lucky to see one because of the high elephant grass. Leopards are even rarer.
