Hampton Court Park

Absolutely wonderful to just wander through and soak up the weather and gardens. Could quite easily spend over an hour here. Great for gardening ideas. Beautifully manicured and cared for with focal areas, in the back drop of the Palace. Really effective planting of Box (Buxus) and Yew. The worlds largest, and second oldest vine pretty spectacular, grapes hanging should be coming up to black soon I should imagine!!

Hampton Court Palace

Visit the famous hedge maze, Tudor knot garden and the state apartments at this splendid red-brick Tudor Palace, which is set in formal gardens and open parkland along the Thames River.

I've always wanted to visit Hampton Court Palace And It exceeded my expectations It's truly amazing It's Tudor and Baroque architecture are both equally wonderful, the gardens are beautiful you can easily spend a whole day wondering around and still not see it all. When we arrived which was at 9.15 they had just lit the fire in the kitchens (you could smell the smoke wafting over the East front gardens) you can go in and look around the front gardens at 9 am the roses smelt lovely at that time of the morning and we even saw some wild Parakeets flying around. When we we went we where lucky enough to go when you could meet Henry viii and interview a couple of his wives listening to the actors playing them was very interesting and really enjoyable, and it was a pleasure talking to the guides in the rooms of the palace their knowledge about the history of the place was enjoyable to listen to, it was the same talking to the people in the kitchens finding out what life was like working in a Tudor kitchen, Hampton court palace is well worth a visit and I would go back again.

The Magic Garden

Reviewed By NicolaD914 - Kingston-upon-Hull, United Kingdom

This is a magical place for children! We had none with us but I went and had a quick peep inside. There are grassy slopes, water squirting, princess towers, climbing frames, sand pits, huge dragon, a pergola based on Henry VIII’s crown. It looked amazing. It might be a good idea to take a change of clothes and a towel! I really wished I had the grandchildren with me! I believe the entrance is included in the palace entrance fee.

Molesey Heath Nature Reserve

Reviewed By JaneIngridAnderson - Walton-On-Thames, United Kingdom

I love this place. Originally a la still, nature has taken it back so there is a wide variety of native plants alongside insects and birds. There are 2 small lakes with resident swans and ducks alongside a couple of ponds. In the middle of the Heath there is a small but enchanting doggy cemetery, apparently started in 1999 when a beloved dog died. His favourite thing in life was to walk the Heath with his dad so his dad buried him in the place where they had both been happiest. Now there are approximately 15 graves with sweet scented lavender and rosemary plants surrounding them. All in all, well worth a few hours exploring this small piece of nature.
