Well organised tour through the tracks in the park keeping a lookout for wild elephants, bison, peacocks, owls, bears, boar and other birdlife. Didn’t see any tigers - this time. The “tamed” elephants are a bit sad. Better seeing and appreciating the wild ones.

Nagarhole National Park

Reviewed By Global815819 - Chennai (Madras), India

There are couple of things you should know before you plan for a visit in Nagarhole National Park 1. There are two entrance one from Kutta Side other one from Namchi side . The Jungle safari is at the Namchi Gate end. My suggestion is to enter from Kutta gate and drive all the way to Namchi Gate inside the forest you will see many wildlife mostly spotted deer both side of the road while driving . Google GPS will show you wrong direction and will ask you to take off cart road, but stick to the main road and drive all the way till you reach Namchi gate . You will see the booking office there. 2. There are two kind of safari . one by govt in the bus (Budget Friendly and spot booking only) another one by private Junglelodgeresort ( Quite Expensive as they are charging 1650/- per person) however their safari is better compare to Govt one. 3. I took the Govt safari and it worth every penny . They have two slots one in the morning at 6:00AM another one at 3:00PM in the evening . In both slots there are two bus each bus has a seating capacity of 25 person. so Max 50 person in one trip they usually provide two trips in both slots . so a Max 100 People can be accommodated, Hence make sure you arrive early else you will miss the quota 4. They didnt charge kids if he can seat on lap ( upto 12 years) neither for Camera just 350/- per person . So compare to private safari its way cheaper. 5. We picked the evening slot and were fortunate to see tiger as well. However its pure luck if you can see tiger or not . However spotted deer, Elephant, Peacock, Sambar, Monkey are most common to see and you probably get to see them eventually. 6. The road is dusty , hence people have dust allergy should take additional precaution 7. Have ample time in hand while visiting as you may have to wait long in queue to get your turn - The forest officer Naveen is helpful though . Kindly cooperate with them. The Bus ride usually last for 1 hour onward- Overall a must visit for nature and jungle lovers who want to experience wildlife and nature without burning a hole in their pocket.
