Reviewed By G3882KTsimonbJust had the pleasure of a stay at this great little place. Called up early on a Saturday morning asking for a room. Having driven through the night for work. I asked if I could get into my room as early as possible. Arrived at the hotel. The first question I was asked,”are you hungry?” I was so I was offered breakfast straight away. My room was ready straight away. So I was checked in and had had my breakfast before the advertised check in time. A welcome bonus for me. Breakfast I could not fault. And the staff were fantastic also. I also had my evening meal at the hotel which was perfect. So glad I selected this place rather than a faceless major chain hotel where I would not be allowed to check in early. Could not fault this hotel. Service, hospitality and flexibility top notch. Many thanks. Will be booking again should work ever take me this way again.

Food is very lack lustre
Reviewed By Philip WI was looking forward to a local where I could eat good quality tapas as I go to Spain quite a lot and cook Spanish food myself. We had 6 tapas between us and I can honestly say the food was disappointing at best, terrible at worse. The ensalda fresca de Mallorca was the best of the of 5 but there was far too much sugar in the dressing for my taste. The worst was the gambas pil pil which should have had plump juicy prawns in a hot paprika and garlic sauce. The prawns were tiny and barely cooked, there was no heat and the sauce was very watery. The pescado adobado was luke warm, watery and slightly under cooked. When the server asked us if we had enjoyed our food, I gave an honest answer saying, in particular that I cook gambas pil pil a lot better than the dish we received. No comment and certainly no intention of mentioning it to anyone! In addition a lot of the tapas dishes had been permanently crossed off the menu, possibly the most expensive and time consuming to produce? Unfortunately not a great experience. They really need to up their game if they are going to attract repeat local customers

Reviewed By marshallolufAnd thats exactly what I found out when myself and my Father had our dinner at The Bell as it's now known as tonight. So upon arrival, the decor was okay, very traditional pub-like. Pleasant waitress served us, but I found it strange how so much stuff on the menu was out of stock. I settled on the Burger with Bacon and Cheese, whilst my Dad had the Lamb Curry. Wait time could have been a little faster, but hey they just opened so therefore still learning the ropes. Food was great value and tasted rather good. The Burger was cooked nicely and curry was very good too. Nice tender meat on both the lamb and beef. Topped off with an ice cream and coffee. My only big criticism was being served wine in a glass with lipstick remnants on it. Then again i've worked in a similar environment and i'm aware that lipstick is a tough stain and you don't get things right %100 of the time. All in all, good value dinner for 2 with drinks that only cost £40. All round pretty good cheap eat, but the bar could do with some tweaking.
