Beautiful location and special place!

Just back from our 4th stay at “The Fountain Inn” with another booked for August. Absolutely love this hotel. It is right in the centre of Cowes, so just a perfect location. However we love it more because it is super dog friendly and the landlords Andy and Nicola and all the staff are so friendly and welcoming. A big thank you to Jody for helping me with the luggage when we arrived. We had a fantastic spacious room overlooking the harbour and the Red Jet drop off point which makes for great people watching. The breakfast is great with a very good choice & you can even get a menu for your dog!! Bruce loves this hotel too. He is a rescue Dobermann who is nervous of everything, but he is always treated like a guest and is very comfortable and happy staying here.

Perfect base for exploring

We spent a wonderful couple nights at The Caledon Guest House. It was the perfect location for us to use as a base to explore the Island. Check in was very easy and the communication we received from the owners (both before and during our stay) was excellent. They really have thought of everything! Our room (a king size with a sea view) was great, well stocked, and the view was beautiful. Breakfast (ordered online the night before) was delicious and freshly cooked. It is a short walk down the hill to Cowes where we had our pick of numerous restaurants and pubs. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will recommend you!

Worst B&B experience

Reviewed By TrudyJHWilson

The room (room 4) was very tired and very dusty, which caused my asthma to rear up. One of the light fittings was hanging of the wall. Anyone over 5" would have bumped onto the main light & the lampshade was full of dust. There was a fan, which I wouldn't have dared turn on, as it has do much dust on it. The bathroom was filthy & decrepit. Shower head full of mould & rusty, ventaxia gunked up with many years of dirt & dust & not working. Radiator rusty, probably due to lack of ventilation. Stray hair on toilet. Toilet brush disgusting. We were not advised on arrival that the breakfast would be a paper bag of unhealthy, sweet food instead of the usual cooked breakfast. It was only when we got to the room, that we found out, via a brief information sheet, that they no longer serve proper breakfast. We stayed here 4 years ago and it was very good, with a decent breakfast & a clean room. There was a young girl, on her own, dealing with both the pub & b&b. Not fair for her, as the pub was busy & she had to leave the bar to assist us on arrival. The owners of this pub/b&b should be ashamed of the conditions of both the room & the breakfast. We will not be returning.

UKSA

Bed and breakfast

Reviewed By Scothmer-Clay

Four of us stayed in the Victory accommodation block. Very clean and though basic had all we needed. Beautiful location and ideally situated for Cowes. Breakfast was in the cafeteria with the students, which was fine. Eating with a view over the water and the UKSA boats. Made for a quirky and memorable place to stay. Highly recommended.
