Here, you can ride the very rare native ponies of Okinawa, "Yonaguni ponies". They are small, very gentle in nature and well trained. In summer (May - October), we offer horseback riding in the ocean, which is so much fun. During cool season (November - April), we offer horseback riding on the beach. *Our ponies are very small, the rider must weigh under 75kg (165lb). I went to Iejima specially for this activity, & I'm glad I made the trip! The hosts were very friendly & hospitable, taking time to introduce the surroundings we passed. I took the reins without the horse in lead line as I have riding experience. As I ride English but their tack is Western, they also took time to explain the difference to help me to adapt to a different riding style. No better way to explore the beach, farms & camping ground (on the 1.5hr course) than on one of their horses!
