6 Free Things to do in Disneyland Resort That You Shouldn't Miss

February 22, 2022 Frederic Celentano

Disneyland Resort features two theme parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure. Opened in 1955, Walt Disney’s original theme park, Disneyland Park is divided into 8 themed “lands”—Main Street, U.S.A., Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Mickey's Toontown, Frontierland, Critter Country, New Orleans Square and Adventureland. Sail with pirates, explore exotic jungles, meet fairy-tale princesses, and dive under the ocean and rocket through the stars— all in the same day. Combine the magic of Disney with the best that California has to offer and the result is Disney California Adventure, a theme park that celebrates the California in style. When you enter the gates of this park, you are transported to the land of promise, opportunity and glamour. Disney California Adventure is a journey from the California of yesterday to today and a tribute to this land of dreams. You can ride the Red Car Trolley in 1920s Los Angeles, take a raft down the rapids with a mining company on Grizzly Peak, travel down Route 66 or brave a white knuckled roller coaster in a seaside amusement park. Whether you prefer "action, comedy or romance," Disney California Adventure has something for everyone.

Sephora

This is the one and only Sephora that started it all for me! The Downtown Disneyland Sephora was the very first Sephora I visited when I was just 14 or 15 years old. I was completely entranced and star struck, immediately overwhelmed and captivated by the sheer variety of beautiful colors and packages of makeup and fragrances. I think I looked at every single Benefit item and didn’t turn away to other sections for at least half an hour. I wanted to learn everything! I was so excited like a child on Christmas morning. I had officially discovered a whole new world, a land of makeup better than anything I could have dreamt. This Sephora will always hold a special place in my heart, and I never miss a visit or a quick photo each time I find myself on this street. Nothing else can compare to that very first visit to sephora. Thank you for giving me such a magical first visit and memory! This store will always be my most favorite.

Splitsville

We have enjoyed the location in Disney Springs many times and were so excited to find a new location at Downtown Disney. It is so neat to watch my husband and son have fun bowling and we can eat dinner too. The waitstaff is terrific and very accommodating. I had been feeling a little under the weather and not wanting to eat too much so I asked if I could order off the kids menu and it was no problem. We had a great time. I would definitely go back. There was an hour wait for bowling at 5pm on Friday evening (this was just a few days after New Years). But you can take a pager and still walk around part of downtown Disney while you wait.
