We enjoyed a lovely stay at Craig Y Glyn. The owner is lovely lady and very accommodating. The breakfast was great and the beds very comfortable. The B&B is located in a good location for Lanbedrog and Abersoch.

The Old Rectory

The Old Rectory is situated midway between Pwllheli and Nefyn, opposite Boduan Church. Perfectly located to give you great access to all areas of the Llyn Peninsula. Near to Nefyn, Abersoch & Pwllheli.Whether you are a couple on a short getaway break, or a family with adventure in mind, you are no more than a short drive away to many relaxing and stimulating locations. As you are welcomed into The Old Rectory a spacious hall gives you an idea of the space and comfort offered. Leading off from the hall are the drawing room, dining room and staircase to your rooms, which are tastefully furnished and decorated and feature fine linens and toiletries. The dining room, with views over the garden, catches the morning sun.The beautiful light-filled sitting room, with its magnificent fireplace and outlook over the front and rear gardens, is quiet and relaxing. A log fire adds to the welcome in the cooler months and the decoration, antiques and comfortable furnishing provide a home-from-home atmosphere. Pwllheli, Abersoch, Llanbedrog, Nefyn, Aberdaron, Criccieth, and Porthmadog are but a few of the most popular local towns on the Llyn Peninsula, and all within easy reach.Quiet walks with spectacular scenery lead from the end of the drive. The North and South coasts with sandy beaches and cliff walks are within a five minute drive. The golf courses of Nefyn, Pwllheli, Abersoch, Criccieth and Harlech are all short drive away and we can arrange your reservation for you (often with a discount). In the immediate local area activities such as clay pigeon shooting, shooting, horse riding, water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, wake boarding, boat trips, archery, ten pin bowling, go-karting, quad biking and cycling are available. The railways of Ffestiniog, the Welsh Highland and Mount Snowdon provide wonderful ways to see Snowdonia. Caernarfon, Bangor, Portmerion, Conway, Bodnant Gardens and Anglesey are just some of the places to visit. Out of season have the beaches and roads to yourself. The climate is mild and the Llyn Peninsula has a micro climate that is often drier and sunnier than the forecast shows.

Simply stunning

Stayed over half term break, and we couldn’t have had a better stay. Jeanette & Wilf made us so welcome, nothing too much trouble. At same time they wanted to make sure we simply enjoy the cottage and treat it as our own home. The cottage is fabulous, with all mod cons and decor so classy. On the dark nights the gas fire made it so cosy, and our children absolutely loved the place. Located not far from most of the Llyn’s main attractions (sea 5 mins away). Finally, the hot tub made the stay so special, and so much fun for the family. We were all very sad when had to say our goodbyes. Couldn’t recommend the place more highly. Already thinking of our next trip! Thank you Jeanette & Wilf xxxx

Nice one night stay

Stayed here for one night recently. Ross was incredibly welcoming and informative and it was lovely to see sanitising stations around the b&b . Room was a good size, unable to access any hot water from the bathroom sink but the shower was ok. There is a pub next door but one and it was extremely noisy at closing time with lots of shouting and cars pulling up but that’s not the fault of Somerdale. Breakfast was an absolute treat- very generous proportions and all cooked fresh to order.

The hotel is family run with friendly staff. It is one minute from the beach in Pwllheli which has a Blue Flag, five minutes walk to the town centre with a local market weekly and a few minutes drive to the Marina and Golf Club. There are many other beautiful beaches less than half an hour's drive from Pwllheli. Also the historic town of Caernarfon and the beautiful Italian village Portmerion are approximately half an hour's drive away. The hotel has six bedrooms all of which are en suite with TVs in the rooms. Lunches and bar snacks are all homemade and are available during the day and in the evenings. The hotel is also open to non-residents.

Best avoided

Stayed on a Saturday night loud intrusive music until around midnight. Then lots of street noise til later. En suite was tiny, no hooks or rails for towels, or toilet roll light failed. No breakfast so price exorbitant.

Wedding anniversary stay

Nice quiet location for our 41st wedding anniversary - lovely and clean like you’re stepping back in time - very olde worlde- absolutely beautiful surroundings - and massive grounds - we have just sat on the bench outside some days and admired the view - breakfasts here are great - lovely host - please note there are no en suite facilities here that does not bother us - but we had one side to ourselves so no issues - huge bathroom with roll top bath and separate shower - wonderful - we had a massive front room - biggest I have ever stayed in - perhaps just need a small lock on the door - would we return - absolutely yes we would - no hesitation
