Kind and hospitable hosts, Jason Vercellino. Gorgeous rooms and the top floor suite is amazing. We recommend spending 1 night in El Quelite and staying in this beautiful location. Visit the cheese factory and the bakery, stroll the cobblestone streets, shop in artisan shops.

Delightful Beach House

Not a fancy resort type of place, but truly clean, cozy, and RIGHT ON THE BEACH. We stayed in the big house which is very roomy and only inches from high tide. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was clean and refreshing. For a simple, relaxing vacation, this is it!

Villa Serena Vacation Rentals

Villa Serena, "House of Tranquility" is a complex of 10 villas that share a common garden and swimming pool in the heart of the Golden Zone. Each villa has roughly 1750 to 1,940 square feet of living space and 500 square feet for a private terrace and garden. The common area includes gardens, swimming pool, lounge chairs and palapas. Views from all bedrooms and living rooms are to the interior gardens and swimming pool. No noise from the street.

Fantastic location. Nice Courtyard and pool!

I have stayed here a few times in Moises Romero's units. This time the unit was nicely remodeled and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are very nice although the sink is a little high for short people. I have been coming to Mazatlan for 20 years and the beds were some of the best I have ever had. Air in every room and blackout security dividers can be deployed on the windows. It also greatly reduces the sound. Moises is a great landlord and promptly provided blankets and a new coffee pot. Newer TV with broadcast channels. The unit we were in used a repeater for a router and our connection was typically below 1 Mbps. That isn't unusual in Mexico but if you need fast internet, buy a SIM card and make your phone a hotspot. 3 bedrooms are hard to find in the Golden Zone. Most are out North in Cerritos or up in town. This location is across the street from the beach and near the restaurant zone of Playa Gaviotas. Super convenient. If you want beach and a warm pool, get a $200 peso day pass at the gorgeous new Holiday Inn. If you we want a beach and a cold pool and no cost go to Las Flores. Just bring your own towel.

A nice small place in Mazatlan

Reviewed By J & M Champagne

We spent one week at the Casa De Marlin, in Feb. 2004. Our primary reason for this trip was for the Marlin fishing. As the Casa De Marlin does both lodging and fishing we found this arrangement to our liking. Rodney picked us up at the airport on time, upon our arrival to the lodge a lunch was ready for us. For three meals a day and a clean, spacious bedroom we felt that the Casa De Marlin was a good value for anyone interested in a fishing trip to Mazatlan. Even for the non-fisherman, the lodge is a good choice for those who would like to visit Mazatlan and are not looking for the big hotel experience. The staff at the lodge were both friendly and competent, everyone was eager to please and seemed genuine in their effort to make our stay pleasant and comfortable. The meals were good home cooked fare, and a refrigerator full of soda, water and beer is available to guests of the Lodge at all times. Our fishing Captain & Mate were also very friendly and eager to get us into some Marlin. While unusual winter weather conditions unfortunately made fishing rather unproductive during our stay there was no lack of effort by Captain Auggie & Mate Micky to search out every possible opportunity to raise fish. One of our days fishing we were the only boat in the Marina to have caught a Striped Marlin. We feel that potential for fishing success in this area is great. We ourselves would like to return at some point to fish again under more normal weather and fishing conditions. Lunch and beverages in good supply are provided on the boat. Our host Rodney also arranged for a private guide to take us on a tour of the Sierra Madre Oriental. This was 5 hr trip of interest that we thoroughly enjoyed. This was just one of several tours/activities available to visitors with interests other than fishing. Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Casa De Marlin. It is a clean, modern accomodation with downhome feel. It's a perfect place for those wanting to avoid the crowds of the large tourist resorts. Those not speaking Spanish will find that enough English is understood and spoken to make their stay comfortable. Thanks again for the great trip!
