Becán deserves to be a “must see” like Calakmul. Don’t skip it.
Jungle setting, (tall) climbable pyramids, important history with the added bonus of tunnels and hidden stairwells to find and explore. We had the place to ourselves all morning which added to the magic. Our kids say it was easily their favorite.
The grounds are immaculately kept. Seriously, those guys deserve a raise.
55mxn for adults and free for kids.

To be standing on the edge of a terrifyingly deep dry cenote waiting for the sun to set and feeling the warm stench of bat guano rising from below is a unique experience. But then, the whirlwind begins and millions of bats swirl upwards, leaving their dark home to feed on insects. Highly recommended if you like nature or bats.
Standing at the edge is at your own risk, there are no rails, ropes or other impediments to your potential death by falling. No one charging a fee, no tickets.
Tip: take a disposable face mask if you are sensitive to smells.

Very small site with mainly only one building to visit, but very nice and interesting building. Don't missed to see the sculpture at the top of the pyramid at the back.

I arrived here close to 9 pm and wanted a tour the next day. I thought they will be close and my luck expired. The attendant made some calls and I got in a tour on a last minute request, though it was a Spanish speaking guide, not English. The price is very reasonable and if I stayed a bit longer, they would have other tours for me. I recommend to visit them specially if you have few options with time.
