Thornton le Dale Motor Museum

Decided to visit here after watching Bangers & Cash on TV. What a splendid ever changing museum as some of the cars on display are in the next auction. The Owners and staff are lovely people and obviously being on TV has not gone to there heads. Some absolutely stunning vehicles and motor cycles as well as lots of interesting memorabilia. The very small admission fee goes to Charity so well done to the Matthewsons and staff as i am sure when they are busy visitors will get in the way. I spent a couple of hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it, I could of amused myself for longer but wanted to have a look around Thornton le Dale which is a lovely village then have a bite to eat and walk to Pickering.

Had a lovely overnight stay at the new inn . we had spent the day at flamingoland and had booked our stay to finish the day off . There's a good size car park at the rear which leads on to a pleasant beer garden. Check in was very quick and easy and the room was clean and comfortable . We asked about booking a table for an evening meal to be told as guests one was already reserved which we thought was a nice touch . We had family staying nearby who joined us for the evening meal which we all thought was really delicious , so much so we all had three courses and a few drinks. After a comfortable nights sleep , breakfast was made to order with a good choice of menu and again delicious would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to anyone
