Gosauseen

This lake is a charm! The lake itself, its surroundings, the Dachstein Mountains over it - all is natures best and we found out through a leaflet we spotted in our hotel.
There are different ways to go to Gosausee from Salzburg by public transport:
There is the frequent bus 150 to Bad Ischl, 1 hour, and from there to Gosausee bus 542 (maybe a change in Hallstatt Gosaumühle), 50 minutes and about € 15. If you start early you can include Hallstatt (change bus in Hallstatt Gosaumühle).
Upon reaching the lake, we took the cable car to the Gablonzer Hütte and enjoyed some great views. There are many hiking trails (maybe to long for a daytrip), a short and easy hiking trip to Hinterer Gosausee.
Highly recommended!

Dachstein West

Reviewed By Sonia H - Petaling Jaya, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia

Went with family and boyfriend for a skiing holiday. Gosau was a gem - very laidback and quaint village with small towns accessible by car. The Dachstein West is a huge ski area however, we were unfortunate that there was no snow at all throughout our entire stay so they had artificial snow instead which was pretty coarse and not powdery. In fact, the whole of Austria (we went to Gosau, Salzburg & Vienna) had no snow at all. We asked the locals and our host who said it was not normal that there was now snow at all in Austria. The last time it did not snow was in in the 70s. But we did not let it hamper our spirits. We mad the most of our stay and went skiing anyway. Dachstein West is ideal for intermediate and above skiers for sure, although they did have rookie hills. We only went to Gosau and Russbach ski area and Russbach was the most beautiful. Head up to the top using the cable and enjoy the view.

Lockernmoos

Sicher eine interessante Wanderung auf Waldwegen, über Wurzelwerk bergauf, durch das Hochmoor auf Holzbrettern , und auf Schotterstraße .
Einkehr in tollen , urgemütlichen Hütten.
War ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für meine 93 jährige Oma.
Auch diese schaffte diesen Rundweg.
