We just love this beach!
So much to offer.
Can walk as far as Armacao de Pera where there are nice beach bars and restaurants too.
Beach bars open in the season all the way along the beach
Beautiful sand and safe bathing
Great to watch the surfers when the waves are big
Lovely to sit in a sheltered spot to watch the world go by.
Behind the beach is a board walk amongst the sand dunes.
Further along is a nudist beach which may not appeal to some!

We weren't sure what to expect after Reading this was a nature reserve. What we found was a fantastic location for a family outing. The beach is endless and has golden sand running out into a shallow surf. Perfect for our adventurous 6 year old and his new body board. The cafe is clean and has friendly staff. It also has nice tidy showers for 1 euro. The boardwalk into the nature reserve was perfect for cooling off when we visited with a breeze coming off the water.

Me and my partner went out with Diogo and another couple to try paddle boarding for the first time. Neither of us had done this before and so were a bit apprehensive. Diogo was a fantastic instructor, both friendly and very professional. He immediately calmed any nerves we had and provided clear instructions on the beach on what we should do when in the water. Diogo took us around the coast to explore some of the caves and once on the water we were soon standing and paddling thanks to his constant encouragement and instruction. We both thoroughly enjoyed the experience and recommend to anybody who wants to try a fun activity.

I went on a short walking escorted by a member of the hotel team.
She led us across the wooden bridge and into the nature reserve and lagoon with the Salgados golf course at one side.
There were lots of people walking and some on bikes.
There are information points and a high bird observation structure.
We walked back along the beach and there is a restaurant Os Salgados on the beach.
Lots of walking possibilities beside and on the beach.
There is a strong shell of curry from the " curry plant" though it is not used in cooking.
We saw various birds including herons and white flamingoes.
A lovely quiet retreat from the nearby tourist town of Albufeira..

Spikes Executive Transfers are fantastics!! We where a group of 15 stayng in a lovely Villa about 15mins taxt ride from Albuferia. Spikes has various sized taxis to take you to where ever you wanted to go. Extremely realible, we would call 15/20 mins before we wanted picking up for 15 people and there they would be all at a very reasonable price too. Very friendly, helpful service, wouldnt think twice to call anyone else. Thank you, you really made our stay in Albuferia, we will be back.
