5 Things to do in Gahoe-dong That You Shouldn't Miss

September 28, 2021 Kaleigh Reichenbach

Seoul is the business and cultural hub of South Korea, where skyscrapers tower over Buddhist temples. Take it all in from the N Seoul Tower, built atop a peak in Namsan Park. The teahouses and shops of Insadong give you a taste of Korean flavor, which you can further experience with a visit to the grounds and museums of Gyeongbokgung. UNESCO World Heritage Site Changdeokgung Palace is a fine example of authentic ancient architecture.

Staff is very helpful. First, they give you a place to keep your bags, which reduces confusion. They size you up quickly and lead you to the racks that hold your size. Trying on 2 Hanbok is included in the price, additional hanbok fittings are extra. If you want a petticoat, that is also extra (but I felt it was a nominal fee, and worth it). Once you're dressed, you go to the accessories room, where there are curling irons, and many hair accessories, like combs and flower crowns. Additionally, they had fans (very helpful on a hot day), and purses that blended with the outfit while able to carry your phone and money. You need cash for the deposit, and they will check your bags so that you look properly costumed. They are a few blocks from the palace, but it was not a bad walk. It is really fun to dress up like this. Totally worth it, and the women at oneday were very efficient, pleasant and helpful.
