El Tajo de Ronda

Reviewed By Bozeman-Dublin - Dublin, Ireland

We loved our day in Ronda, an absolutely beautiful town. Its best attraction is the beautiful bridge over the gorge which offers stupendous views for miles around. Make sure to descend into the gorge itself by a small path beside the bridge. From the bottom if you walk away from the bridge for a time you are rewarded with equally magnificent views of Ronda itself with the bridge spanning across the gorge.
it really is a magnificent place to spend some time. Lovely town too with lovely eateries and shops.

Puente Nuevo Bridge

Reviewed By Taxwizzard - Staffs

Thoroughly recommend a visit to Ronda. The bridge is a stunning piece of architecture and it is well worth actually crossing it and then taking the pathway which is out on the right and walking down (right down) to the bottom. Once down there you views of the bridge itself are stunning. Leave yourself a good hour or so to go all the way down, as although it's easy going down, the return is steep and hard going. I wouldn't recommend it for those with mobility problems or is pushing a buggy or carrying a baby!
Once back up take a walk around the old town, which is beautiful and very atmospheric.
We spent a good 6 hours there but didn't have time to visit the numerous museums, well you have to linger over lunch and fabulous views, so there is now a return visit planned.
Yes it is touristy but then that's what you are and why you are there.

Reservatauro Ronda

Guided tour 70 min "Amongs bulls and horses" adult 25 euros - Guided tour 2 hours with Ronda´s wine and tapas adult 40 euros- Discover the life of the figthting bull and the andalusian horse. Only a few minutes away from the city that joined its destiny to the king of the dehesa, at RESERVATURO RONDA, in the edge of a Biosphere Reserve, we can enjoy observing within a short distance all the stages of the fighting bull breeding and selection: the breeding stock cows escorted by the powerful stallion -the chosen one, the herald of the essence of the breed-; the calves born that year, running about together overlooked by their mothers, dreaming of a long life in the country; the young bulls insolents, boastful of their thoroughbred; and finally, the bull, the result of centuries of men's passion for creating the most beautiful creature, midway between its nobility and its fighting spirit. Our visit to Reservatauro was really enjoyable.
Whether you agree with bull fighting or not, this place shows a different side to the sport with beautiful animals (bulls, cows and horses) living free range with a high quality of life in a fabulous rural setting.
The tour is really excellent and very informative. Our guide Ilhem was fluent in English, French and Spanish and was very interesting.
I highly recommend a visit here. Thank you Ilhem!

El Torcal Natural Park

A beautiful expanse of land decorated by dramatic natural rock formations.

Very windy road to get there from Antequera though achievable even in a Motorhome. Explored the area around the visitor centre and had a look inside. There was good information in english on the formation of the rocks. Didn't do the walks as we didn't see them signed anywhere, maybe next time.

Basilica of Santa Maria de la Victoria

Reviewed By e-travelchick - Calgary, Canada

We had been looking for something unusual to do in Malaga and we found it. After Reading the reviews here we timed our visit so we could have a guided tour. Michaelangelo was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and obviously passionate about his subject matter. The crypt is stunning ( the skeleton imagery in stark black and white is beautiful, as is the story behind it). We were allowed to take photos as we liked. We thought that was it until we were taken to the tower of Heaven which is a hidden area behind the main altar. It was jaw droppingly beautiful. This small space and short tour is a must see for off the beaten track attractions. The 2€ donation is more than a fair price.
