Very good clean parkland, encompassing a meeting hall, full sized AFL football ground, BBQ facilities, cycling velodrome, together with free play spaces.
I has pleanty of walking space and other open spaces for children's play, including well designed play equipment with plenty of variety.
A worthwhile place for a family visit, or for an extended family reunion.

From the look of this historic grandstand, it was built sometime between 1890 and 1920. It would have witnessed many AFL (Australian Rules football) and cricket matches.
The park is well maintained. I enjoyed the native plants more than the rose garden, as the latter does not give sustenance to our native birds.

Carnegie Swim Centre

A great open air pool tucked away in the suburb of Carnegie, Melbourne. It looks like it was set up in the 60s but it is a good full sized pool and well kept.
An excellent place to go on a warm day certainly and great for keeping the kids amused, having a picnic and getting some rays and some exercise.
Popular but its a big area so not overcrowded when we were there; and that was on a hot day.

Ok so maybe you're traveling or live in Melbourne. Either way this place should be on your shopping list. A bit out of the way perhaps....but for fashionable clothing, in great fabrics with Martin and staff helping - it's always a winner for me.
They have separates, dresses, leather jackets and pants as well as accessories. The fabrics are terrific for wash, hang dry and wear. The pieces travel so well - no ironing or creases. Very comfortable for air travel and great for office or casual.
They also do custom leather pieces - jackets, pants or dresses as well as great selection of ready to wear leather. They do their own dying so the color selection is terrific as well as the finishes.
Highly recommend you stop by.
