This is a large expanse of sandy beach along the river close to the town of Carmelo, Uruguay. It is very popular with the locals in summertime and is a pleasant walk during the cooler winter months. There is a large park with family picnic areas attached to the beach alongside the river inlet leading to and from Carmelo.
