Al Hazm Castle

My first fort in Oman, and as others have said, the outside may not be very impressive, but the inside is great. Rooms are restored, some furnished, and some have architectural decorations. And the ticket guy, with his dates and coffee (and complimenting my Arabic) made it very welcoming.

Wakan Village

Reviewed By esitami

We went to Wakan Village by a 2WD suv car (Toyota Rush) that we rented. Till the first entrance of the village, road was very smooth and flat. After the first entrance we drove on bumpy and winding roads for 3 kms. If you don’t trust the car and your driving skills, it would be better to go there by 4WD. But I don’t want to encourage anyone. After the challenging road, we parked the car and climbed up the stairs along the gardens and scenic views. We went there as a couple. It took almost an hour to the top over 700 steps (including breaks for photoshooting). There were also families with the young kids. The view on every stop was nice so you don’t have to go the top if you can not. But if it is not crowded, it would be nice to experience the peaceful environment and silence on the top. You can see local goverment’s touch in the village as a touristic destination. It is not %100 wild but we enjoyed a lot. It is worth the see a cute and green village between the huge and rocky mountains.
