We were staying at a resort in Ko Yao Yai, and having travelled across South-East Asia have realised that resorts don’t tend to have the best masseuse as they focus more on beautifying their spas then technique. Leela’s was the perfect massage place we could find and it fit exactly what we were looking for. It’s a basic local massage ‘parlour’, clean and airy, doesn’t look shady at all and the masseuse know their stuff. We opted for 2 hour massage and the experience was heavenly. My husband has chronic shoulder pain and Leela spent those 2 hours literally opening every knot in his body! I myself received a beautiful braided hair do after my super relaxing massage. I’d say this experience is not to be missed if you’re in Ko Yao Yai! Tip: Ask for Leela herself if you prefer strong pressure. And call ahead to book your spot if you’re staying far!

K. Gift, his aunt and niece give me my wife and 2 kids an amazing few hours experience at their workshop. We are not gifted artists so were a little nervous at first but it was really the most fun activity we did on the island. We got to learn about the history or the island whilst creating some really cool artwork. The gift shop has some really amazing things if you’re not in the mood for making yourself but I would highly recommend taking a few hours activity here during your stay. We will certainly visit this workshop every time we visit and K. Gift is also a certified tour guide so we also looking forward to hiring him to help us explore the hidden gems here. Beautiful family and a local business you will love.
