Sweet Betsy Farm

We are a small family bee farm with an onsite farm stand featuring our Local Raw Honey, eggs and fresh produce. Because of Covid-19 and the limited space in our building, we are unfortunately unable to have our actual store open year and won't be able to offer tours of the beehives. We do have a self serve honor system farm stand open so you can still get some of our yummy honey to take home! We can take Cash, Venmo, or PayPal. We hope to see you soon!

Sweet Betsy Farm is spectacular! Ed and Karen are two of the kindest people you will ever meet. Ed guided my husband and I through the beekeeping process with a tour that was both informative and engaging. Karen was super sweet and helped us with the beekeeping suits. Ed was patient and answered any questions we had about bee history and culture. The brood of friendly chickens on the property was a pleasant surprise. Also on the farm is The Honey House, which has various types of honey for sale and to sample, including the rare and much sought after sourwood honey. There are signs along the road leading up to the farm, making the place easy to find.

Historic Carson House

Reviewed By NChistoric

Just visited the Carson House a couple of days ago. Fascinating tour. The evolution of the house itself-from 2 cabins and the large Carson and McDowell family histories were covered. The civil war soldiers that ransacked the place and the family’s attempts to thwart them. The Carson’s role in government. The invaluable role of slaves and the freed slaves that stayed on after the war. Just a few fascinating topics that were covered. Very knowledgeable tour guide. AMAZING value. Probably not good for small kids though.

English Farmstead Cheese

We learned of the great cheese they have from sampling it at several local wineries (Mountain Brook Vinyards and Linville Falls Winery). So we looked them up and discovered we had been driving past them for years. Our fav is the buttercup cheese.

This is a nice little place to catch some Rainbow Trout, and have a great conversation with the owners, very friendly folks. You will catch fish. and dont let the $6.50 a pound scare you, we caught 6 beauty's and only paid $24. This is a great place to take kids, I plan on taking my granddaughter next time.

My first solo at Lucky Strike I got color. I usually go with my wife. This time I went alone. Had a great time. This is a must do for the family. Great place for learning how to pan, high banking, and dredging.
