Bedfont Lakes Country Park

This was a wonderful discovery. There is extensive green space, surrounding attractive lakes. There are open spaces and secluded corners; there is some contouring. You can walk, run, sit, play. There is a small information centre (closed when we were there), and what may be a weekend petting zoo. Hounslow Council maintain it quite beautifully. Highly recommended.

Osterley Park and House

A short hop from central London by tube, Osterley is one of the last surviving country estates in London. Explore the House as it would have looked in the late 17th century, as well as the surrounding formal Gardens (including children's playtrail) and parkland. The House and Gardens are open 11am - 4pm, with the park open 7am-7pm. Don't miss the Stables Café, well-stocked National Trust Shop, and second-hand bookshop.

Fantastic trip, beautiful formal gardens to walk around. Didnt have to book for the carpark and they said they could squeeze us in without a prebooking for the formal gardens. Beautiful woodland walk and formal flower gardens to wonder around. They said house should be open next month! We'll be back to check it out.

Hounslow Heath

I almost let some of these reviews put me off visiting Hounslow Heath for the first time, but I’m so glad I didn’t! Even in early November there’s so much to see. Bright red fruit on hawthorn, blackberries still with a few blossoms, a lovely old oak tree and Sussex cattle grazing in their own field. The council and the volunteers are doing a great job of looking after this historic remnant of what was once a vast heathland. I will be visiting again in the future as I want to see it throughout the seasons.
