Dartmouth manages to retain many of its historic buidings and the museum is housed in one of the oldest at the start of the Butterwalk. Packed full of pictures and information on the development of the town and, of course, its maritime history it is a must see treasure trove of information.

We always try and stop by the RNLI shops to show our support, this has to be one of the best we have been to, it’s obviously got the standard shop but the visitors centre part is great, telling stories of local lifeboat rescues aswell as the cut down former lifeboat that children can play on, and the dress up corner just adds to the experience. Our two year old daughter had a great time dressing up as a lifeboat crew and loved playing in the lifeboat pretending to be the captain! A really good idea whoever thought this up. As ever the staff and volunteers where friendly and informative, and the shop was well stocked.
