If you’re in Monaghan be sure to drop into this wonderful museum. It’s free admission and consists of very very interesting displays of Co Monaghans history. The current War of Independence exhibition is very well put together and is a credit to whoever put organised it. Lastly the lady on the front desk is so friendly and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure to visit this museum.

Very nicely curated exhibition on the life and work of Patrick Kavanagh. I suggest starting with the touch screens on your right as you enter the exhibition space and work your way around in a clockwise direction to follow his story in chronological order. Well done to all involved in putting this little gem of a centre together!

An art glass studio, located in a renovated old blacksmith's forge, in a very scenic, rural hilltop 10 minutes drive from Castleblayney, and half an hour from Dundalk, Newry, Monaghan, Carrickmacross. All the glass is designed and made on the premises. Meet Grace, the maker, and see some of the process that goes into making a piece of fused glass. Choose a hand-crafted glass gift to bring home!
