a charming hotel in the middle of nature
Reviewed By Marco CI spent 3 days in this fantastic place out of this world immersed in the woods in the middle of the national park of the Casentino forests at 900 meters above sea level. Ideal location for those who want to get away from city stress and live an experience in contact with nature. The structure is obtained from an ancient hermitage of the tenth century, skilfully restored. Equipped with 10 bedrooms furnished with grace and equipped with essential comforts. I was also very impressed by the impeccable and extremely welcoming and hospitable management of the owner Nicholas and his partner, who make guests feel at home. The hotel also offers a restaurant service which constitutes a further plus on the overall evaluation. The culinary proposal is based on traditional Tuscan dishes expertly prepared by the chef among which the fresh homemade pasta, the Casentinesi potato ravioli, the aubergine pie on basil and tomato cream and the roll in crust deserve a special mention. stuffed. The only note I feel is about breakfast, made mainly of delicious tarts, which I would integrate with a salty part. In conclusion, I absolutely recommend this fantastic experience that I will repeat as soon as possible maybe next autumn Marco

Wonderful Casa Frederica
Reviewed By jespersnielsenWe were 3 families that stayed in Casa Federica for two weeks in July and August 2018. The casa is absolutely worth a visit. It was a wonderful experience: a gentle host, all facilities working well, from kitchen tools to swimming pool to barbeque. The large apartment worked as our base and did a really good job. We also bring our MTB bikes and had some beautiful trips in the mountains on them. Casa Federica is situated in a small valley, 900 meters away from the already quiet road, overlooking the Poppi castle and the valley beyond. The view, also from the pool is stunning. We had almost every night dinner on the terrace above the pool. The Casa is a great place to relax and get back to earth again. Also a good starting point for wonderful outings in the Casentino region. We will definitely come back to visit this place and the family again. The casa has our strongest recommendations.

From our location is easy to reach many historical and artistic castles such as Romena, Palagio Fiorentino, Porciano, Poppi and other important spiritual place as the Eremo of Camaldoli and Vallombrosa. Thanks to the strategic position many clients choose our B&B da Ronald … a Pian del Papa where they can stay in a lovely and quite place in the nature and combine visits of important historical cities such as Florence, Arezzo, Siena etc. all easy to reach being few kilometres far. About 36. 000 Kms of woods, the park of the Casentino forest, offers to the tourists the opportunity to know the uncontaminated nature walking or ride or cycle the mule-track and the foot way which spread in over 300 Kms. Our place has a pretty wide park in a shade of a fir-forest where it is possible to spend relaxing moments in the pure air and at night observing a fantastic starlight sky, all sensation forgotten to who live in the cities. The B&B da Ronald … a Pian del Papa has a homelike management, hospitable, reserved and elegant, it has 6 wide rooms all with private bath, a wide hall suitable for parties, a dining room and an outside loggia where to taste exquisite breakfast, lunch or dinner on candle light. For those who look for recreation activities there are near by thermal centres, golf links, equipped areas for swimming in the river Arno, riding centres and guided visits centres to admire the beauty of surrounding woods. And much more you can discover choosing our place for your vacation.
A peaceful oasis
Reviewed By Aussies11We booked two nights at this B & B in the upper Casentino, and the choice proved a good one as we escaped the early August extraordinary heatwave as this property is located 760 metres altitude close to the Romena castle, making the nights a little cooler. The house was cool as well. In the upper lounge area there are some very interesting reference books in Italian about the history of Tuscan villages. The host, Ronald and his family, were very hospitable and helpful with our requests, e.g. we decided to eat out own panini and fruit in the lovely garden and they set the table and offered a bottle of water. In the garden, where breakfast is served, there is a spectacular view of Poppi and its castle, as well as the hills in the background. The house pets are lovely and sometimes entertaining, especially the big white Maremma dog. Our standard bedroom on the first floor facing the garden and entrance was a little small and could have done with some more items such as a mirror (there was one in the bathroom). The bed was comfortable and the linen was of good quality and cool. Breakfast was adequate, the long black coffee was very good. We especially enjoyed the hydromassage tub in the peaceful garden. Unfortunately they can no longer provide other meals on request, as they used to, because the local laws have changed. The white gravel road leading to the property (about 500 metres) had some big wave type hollows (about half way), perhaps to slow down cars, but there were no warning signs and it could be a bit dangerous. We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to go back.

All’esterno ha una piscina molto spaziosa , tavoli da Ping pong e anche un mini volley … torneremo sicuramente
