Super meal in the restaurant
Reviewed By JosieR65We stayed here overnight prior to a wedding in the area. We had a horrible journey up from the south of England, and were shattered when we arrived. However, the meal in the restaurant really cheered us up - it was fantastic. My husband had cod with new potatoes and broccoli, and it was all cooked to perfection. I had the chicken schnitzel which was tender and juicy, along with a delicious mushroom sauce. The puddings were amazing. My husband’s dinky arctic roll was gorgeous and so prettily presented, and my chocolate cheesecake was beautifully creamy. Special mention must go to the home made Bourbon biscuit which accompanied it - creative and delicious. I spoke to the waitress and she confirmed that all the food is made on the premises and it was a real treat to have such fabulous home-made puddings. If we lived locally I would definitely eat here again.

We are a small and friendly family run business, based in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Having just completed a extension to our hotel to now host a beautiful restaurant and cocktail bar. Our hotel is located in a very quiet rural location away from the hustle of a main town. All our rooms have lovely views of open green land / countryside.As well as welcoming business travellers, we very much welcome family's or groups ie cyclist / fishing trips / our rooms are all multifunctional ...king beds or twin beds so we can cater for all requirements, our two suites are ideal for families, which have two large rooms, and are able to cater for 2 adult's and 4 children, we also allow our hotel to be block booked for an entire party, this enabling the whole hotel to be yours for the weekend...

The decor was shabby, stains on the doorframe into the bathroom, a stain on the bathroom floor, silicone in the bathroom was damaged, the edging strip on the vanity unit had a chunk missing. The wall behind the bed had patches of paint missing, and the windows needed cleaning. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, one pillow each which was very thin as was the duvet. The bathroom radiator was also leaking. Continental breakfast was disorganised, and very limited, no fresh pastries, just bread for toasting, 4 cereals, fruit juice and a bowl of fruit and cereal bars, served by a member of staff not even wearing an apron still with his jacket on. Breakfast is not included and cooked breakfast only available at weekend. I was really looking forward to staying in this suite, and so wanted to give a good review, but I had to be honest.

The Lord Nelson is a family-run pub offering fine food and drink. Our three-star rated B&B offers comfortable ensuite bedrooms for our guests. Breakfast is included in the price which is served in the pub dining area each morning. Our huge beer garden makes it an obvious choice of where to sit and relax with friends and family in the warmer months. Fantastic views of the Ribble Valley and over to the Flyde coast.

Reviewed By Carol GHaving visited several years ago, we decided to treat parents for their special birthdays. Booked in November 2019 and only managed to get there this week after covid etc. Hotel were very understanding through all the booking changes. We consider ourselves to be well travelled foodies (French Laundry, El Bulli in the day, Osterio Francescana to give some idea)........we all agreed that the food here is perhaps the best we have had anywhere. Staff are fantastic, bar service a little haphazard, but I believe with so many places they have a few new recruits still learning. Rooms are exceptionally well appointed and very well thought out. This is as close as you will get to faultless in our view. Cannot wait to return.

Luxury glamping in the Ribble Valley with stunning views 4 Luxury Bell tents 1 Shepherd's Hut Stylish communal bathroom and washrooms with upgraded furnishings and rain shower Opposite train station with quick links to Whalley and Clitheroe. Ribble valley is brimming with gastro pubs, boutique shops, stunning restaurants and places to visit. Historical roman and Pendle Witch attractions to explore. Lots of walking trails including the famous Tolkien Trail which can be reached on foot from the site for the most intrepid.

Reviewed By lmollyFantastic stay at Ribble Valley Retreat! Gorgeous tents, very clean. Beautiful setting. Showers and toilet facilities were great. Emma was lovely and super helpful. Allowed me an early check in to decorate the tent and even put a fridge in one tent free of charge. Highly recommended, looking forward to going back!
