Masafi Fort is located in the eponymous city, in the Al Hajar Mountains range, in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. Masafi Fort was built in the 19th century to protect the oasis, connecting the eastern and western sides of the Al Hajar massif along the road. The fort has preserved ancient underground water systems. The fort is in excellent condition. This is probably the best-preserved fort in the United Arab Emirates, of all that I have seen. A security guard is sitting at the entrance and you will have to sign up for a guestbook.
