Beamhurst Museum

Beamhurst Museum is a privately owned museum which has open weekends so the public can enjoy our collection as much as we do. It was our dream to open a museum so people could enjoy our collection as much as we do. We had our first open days in August 2010 and were overwhelmed by how many people came to visit - nearly 600 people in three days!! he uniqueness of our collection and the range of items to see makes us stand out. We don't collect just one thing, there are over 1000 items related to Uttoxeter. A vast collection of clocks, prams, enamel signs, bikes, music boxes, brewery memorabilia, petrol globes, pumps, barrel organ, bottles, small carriages, radios, pottery, lamps, telephone boxes and much much more ..............and new for this year is a wonderful display of antique watercolours and oil paintings. Uttoxeter War Memorial

The Uttoxeter War Memorial is an impressive monument to the local service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. It’s also where the fox hunters meet up to show off before they go out. I am not sure how often that display goes on. I got caught in the middle of it on New Years Day, while I was visiting. Try to see this memorial when that isn’t going on. There was loads of shouting and aggression. The memorial is beautiful though. It is very well kept and maintained, it’s a lovely display for the military heroes. It’s really nice in the morning on a cold day. I got there as the fog was lifting, it was quite a sight.
