Criterion Theatre

The Criterion Theatre is a charitable organisation located in the heart of Earlsdon. We own our theatre building which seats 122 people and have been producing theatrical entertainment of the highest quality for over 60 years, ever since our founder members set up the Criterion Players in 1955. We are a 200-strong repertory theatre company made up entirely of volunteers. We have a deep sense of community ethos and identification with Coventry as our home. We benefit from our long history and this enables us to pass on the skills we have gained, whether they be technical, performance or front of house to everyone who joins so that they quickly become a part of the ‘wider Criterion family’. Anyone can become a member of the Criterion Theatre. There is no limit to how many members can join and no entry requirement.

Came here to see Jimmy Carr, the layout is perfect so you can see the stage very clearly. Loads of parking available and only a short walk to venue. Members of staff were very helpful showing us to the doors, seats and bar area. Overall great venue to see an intimate show.

The Albany Theatre

Proud of what we do... and those who help us do it. The Albany is a beautiful Art Deco theatre in the heart of Coventry, staging in-house and professional touring dance, drama, music and comedy productions.

Went to see this production with grandson (2 years 10 months). He thoroughly enjoyed it. The venue was ideal for this type of production, staff were really helpful and friendly. Seating was comfy, temperature was just right, prices were good value for money. Multi store car park was close by but not easy to find if you didn’t know where it was. It would be helpful if there was a map on their website showing the location of the car park. The actors were really friendly and made time to speak and have photo opportunities with anyone who wished to do so after the performance.
