It was very hot the day we stopped here and the air conditioned space was appreciated! There is a shop with lots of pewter pieces for sale and also a mini museum about pewter with free demonstrations given on how pewter is used. Very informative!

Mahone Bay in general is a must visit if you are in Nova Scotia. It's an adorable little town, with a constant stream of activities - my parents and brothers all live here (I live in California). The museum has local history, and shows you about the families that formed it (many of the names which still live there) and other cute artifacts. Definitely go in, it doesn't take long and it helps to keep places like this alive and part of the community.

Saltbox Brewery

Such a unique spot. I love local breweries. We found it by accident when we wandered up a street. Beautiful outdoor patio. They sell their flights in different size choices, 5 seemed to be the perfect number. They have such a unique variety of beer, as well as cider! They don’t serve food on spot, however there is a food truck right beside that you can bring to your table. When we were leaving there was live music being set up, if we didn’t have other plans we would of stayed for another round. We took a 6 pack to go and a very unique haskap berry wine in a can. It’s perfect chilled. I defiantly recommend a stop at this place if you are around the Mahone Bay Area.

St. James' Anglican Church

Reviewed By Pepperell22 - Sioux Falls, United States

As a retired Reformed minister, I enjoy visiting interesting churches when on holiday. It was a late September afternoon with off and on showers when my wife, daughter, and I drove through Mahone Bay. The church steeple was very prominent, and I had to take a look. The outside of the church was beautiful and beautifully kept. Some real love went into that building. Unfortunately, the door was locked so I couldn't go inside. AS I was leaving, the Rector, having seen us, came to the door and let us in. He then gave us a little "tour," pointing out the stained glass windows and the finer points of the interior architecture. He was happy to "talk shop" with another minister, although retired and of a different denomination. A very gracious man. We spent a week in the Lunenburg area, and I would say that our visit to this church is one of my fondest memories.
