This is a very strenuous hike, made even more so because it’s almost impossible to reach the parking area in anything but a 4x4. We had to park and walk about 2km ( uphill) to get to the trail. The directions are great but the trail entrance is almost completely grown over so it took awhile to find. Once you are on the trail, there are lots of markers. My friend and I are in our fifties and experienced hikers but this hike is quite the challenge. It took us about 2 1/2 hours to reach the gut for the final climb. Leave early in the morning so as not to be climbing the gut at noon. Hiking boots and polls definitely a must. Glad we did it!!

Spent a lovely day here on a catamaran, snorkeling and swimming as part of a day trip on my cruise. Loved it but there were not many fish to see that day.
