We visited at sunset! Best time as the heat was less. Wonderful to walk around the whole fort to see the extensive historical place. A must when visiting Bahrain.

While enjoying the roundtrip to explore Manama we also visited this fort. This large area is remarkable as probably still parts are unexplored. When arriving at the top you can see a lot of Bahrain's surroundings. There is a nice bistro 'Saffron. Well maintained area and good for a stop!

This is one of several archaeological sites in Bahrain and well worth a visit. Go to the National Museum first, to understand the culture and burial practices. It will put it all into perspective. This is one of the more impressive mounds. Having the background from the museum, or taking a guided tour makes it more interesting.
