Because of the COVID situation, private tasting are be offered at the group price and so we had the entire place to ourselves. We tasted 5 wines, if I remember correctly, and were each given our own charcuterie plate to complement the wines. We learned so much about the history of wine in Hungary and the different regions. Hungarian wines really are worth the trip. The tour hit 3 local producers who were very committed to their craft. Tour guide did a fine job. Very little wine gets exported so it’s wine bars in Budapest and tours that get you the experience.

We had an incredible tour with Idilko and a private driver in a Mercedes van (he was not introduced by he was very competent!). My husband and I did the tour with my 80 year old parents and both staff were kind and patient and showed us the highlights of the city while keeping in mind to avoid long walks or lots of stairs. Idilko is incredibly knowledgable about the long and interesting history of her city. We really enjoyed getting to know beautiful Budapest; we’ll be back!
