Nice walk, best done early morning. Recommended to take insect repellent as march flies are notorious and do sting. I had terrible reactions and was covered in inflamed, itchy bites for weeks. Other than that I really enjoyed the walk.

Twin Falls

We did the 4.2km Twin Falls Circuit which took about 2 hours - you can start it from the Tallabana Picnic Area. The Twin Falls were spectacular and we also saw the Blackfellow Falls on the route. Such a beautiful walk with so many running streams, caves with awesome rock formations and incredible views. The hike itself wasn't super difficult (we're not that experienced) but a good workout for moderately fit people. Some bushwalking experience needed as there are parts with uneven ground (e.g. walking over rocks). Make sure you get there early as it was pretty busy already when we arrived at 8:30 and even busier when we were leaving around 10:30. Would definitely recommend!

Murray Falls

Reviewed By lauras_farm - Cairns, Australia

We visited today as a day trip from Cairns. Easy drive off the highway with the last section being a gravel road (2wd was fine). We have had plenty of rain the past few weeks and could see where the water had gone across the road, so if taking a 2wd be careful! Bottom car park is beside the creek and plenty of spots for swimming as water was high and flowing. Walked up to the top carpark and camp ground which had toilet facilities. Easy walk along a boardwalk to base of falls. Water was gushing and was a sight to see. Swim in the waterhole was lovely and refreshing.

Highly recommend even if you don’t do the Skyrail or train you can easily drive to the falls and follow down the natural wetlands to the viewing platform.

Whether you want to rock hop along the creek to the base of the falls or just to walk along the path to the look out it will be worth the effort. The number of birds in the camping area in the morning was fantastic.
