Ryuka Waterfall

If you enjoy nature hikes and beautiful cascades of water then I highly reccomend adding a visit to Ryuuku Falls. Most pictures do not actually do it justice as it is much taller than it appears on film. The hike through the thick Japanese forest is also quite breathtaking and not overly difficult.

Yudaki Falls

We visited here in Winter and the ice and snow made it more spectacular. We also took the short circular track to Kotaki Falls which was absolutely beautiful and easy to negotiate with just hiking boots and poles. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do the Sejogahara Moor trail from here because it was closed due to damage to the track further along.

Fukuroda Falls

Reviewed By altair06 - Chiba, Japan

Well, that is what the information board have said. But this waterfall is really beautiful especially on autumn. Though this year, the autumn trees were probably damaged by the typhoon, hence the leaves were not as dense as previous years. It's still pretty! To maximize your time, as soon as you arrive, queue for the elevator going the observation deck. On bad days, this would take around 20 to 30 minutes. After which you can go to the 1st level observation deck and then to the suspension bridge. After that, go back to the shotengai (the marketplace) and have some dango and/or ice cream. And buy some Ibaraki omiyage!
