Second year staying at the campsite next door, second year of Grand Defiance! Two days of it. This is simply THE best high ropes site ever. So many courses you'll never get bored. Something for everyone from the tiniest on the yellow routes to the fittest and craziest on the black ones. As a could-be-fitter 40-something, red courses (from age 12) are my limit and blue (9) more my style! We asked which had the longest zipline and enjoyed blue A5 particularly. Red S2 has the longest zipline in the place. The ziplines across the lake are great fun, though on some you get an amusing free bath if you're my weight! You get 3 hours (or up to 4.5, if you wait to start at 4pm) and you'll feel a nice muscle ache in your infrequently used triceps and biceps the next day. They're taking covid seriously and expecting masks to be worn at the ticket hut and during instruction, even though it's outside. Also you have to buy €2 gloves if you havent taken your own. (Outside Covid times they lend you gloves and wash them between uses) On site are also: laser games, pony rides, outdoor escape room type games, frisbee golf, a freefall jump and more. Not sure why, since the high ropes are so good you'll never bother with them!

Breathtaking experience in the heart of the Vendée, idyllic department of Western France: It is undoubtedly worth to reserve minimum a full day to visit the Puy du Fou Grand Parc (60 evening and daytime shows based on French actual and literary history, 4 period villages, 25 restaurants and 5 themed hotels) and book separately well in advance the spectacular 1hr 40m 2400 actors 4000 volunteers “Cinéscénie”, world’s biggest night-time show. Puy du Fou, 2nd most visited park in France after Disneyland Paris and winner of the “Thea Classic Award 2012” for "outstanding, breakthrough visitor attractions that have stood the test of time” is a must and bare in mind that due to shows time agenda and wide portfolio of events you need to plan carefully your visit: Attending 12 shows was a huge accomplishment during my stay; Amongst them I’d recommend: Indoor: “Mousquetaire du Richelieu”, “Le Dernier Panache”; Outdoor Not Covered: “Le Secret de la Lance”, “Le Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes”, “Les Vikings”; Outdoor Covered: “Le Signe du Triomphe” (Held only Once per day!); Make sure to wander around the picturesque “Le Bourg 1900”’s shops!

What a fabulous place for a family! Huge selection of things for the kids of all ages to play on and most of it suitable for adults at the same time. One payment and everything is included, so really good value and not too crowded. The cafe is also pretty good value so we didn't bother with a picnic.

This is the best waterpark we’ve visited, and having 5 kids between 1 & 15 we’ve been to many! It doesn’t have as many thrill slides as other parks (there are only 5 that can be described as such), but it offers so much that other parks don’t. In particular, the park is really spacious with lots of grassy areas to just chill out away from the noise. This renders loungers unnecessary, but if you do want one they are very reasonable at a couple of euros for the day and you can take them to your preferred spot. There is also a playground for the little ones, a wave pool and a deep pool they actually encourage you to dive into! To top it off there is a lovely lake which you can pedalo around for a small additional charge, or just take a pleasant stroll around. All in all a great day out at a very reasonable price.
