We were really searching for a nice horseback ride in the hills of Costa Rica; something that would explore the terrain, and end with a view. Black Stallion Hills was the perfect answer to our search, and came complete with wonderful, user friendly horses, a pleasant, friendly guide, and knowledgeable host Alex. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

This is a roughly 1.5 km walk through tropical rainforest where you will see 38 amazingly realistic animatronic dinosaurs. The walk is enjoyable and our guide made it interesting for the adults by including information on the birds and other fauna and flora we saw. He was very friendly with the kids and made sure that everyone had a good time. Thanks Kevin

If you like animals then this place is for you! Recently visited as a stop off between the airport and our hotel and we are so glad we did! You get to feed zebra, giraffe, ostrich, Indian cows and donkeys all on a safari style vehicle. Definitely buy two or more bags of carrots each at the shop in order to enjoy the experience as much as possible. They are only $2 each. We pre-booked online and then turned up and hopped into the safari tour straight away. Sit at the back of the truck for the best photos! The ride can get a little bumpy in parts of the park but all in all, a very comfortable ride. The animals are very friendly and the tour guides clearly know them by name and their personalities. It was good to see mains water pumped into troughs in the fields and food available (plus they eat carrots all day!) There is lots of space for the animals to roam too. The animals are not shy and will happily poke their heads into the truck to get their treats! It is such a great experience we left thrilled. We were in and out within 2 hours so it isn’t too much of a delay if you’re gonna en route to another location. I highly recommend this place for anyone who loves animals!

I found out about Termales Los Laureles on the internet, and I'm glad I did. It's a hot springs/swimming pool park right near several expensive hot springs in La Fortuna, but it's not expensive and not created for tourists. In fact, I think we were the only customers not from Costa Rica that day--and it was fairly busy. It's clearly a place where average Costa Rican families can spend a day. It's very clean and safe, too. Wide variety of pools and temperatures to choose from. Great place!
