May 18, 2021 Darwin Bolte

Chonburi (Thai: ชลบุรี, RTGS: Chon Buri,  [tɕ͡ʰōn bū.rīː] ( listen)) is an eastern province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong. To the west is the Gulf of Thailand. Chonburi is home to Thailand's largest tourist oriented city, Pattaya (also spelled Phatthaya), it is the only province outside the Bangkok Metropolitan Area to connect by an eight-lane motorway to Bangkok, 80 km distant. It is home to Thailand's largest and primary seaport, it has a thriving migrant and expatriate population. Due to these factors, the province's population is growing rapidly, with currently some 1.7 million residents (albeit with a large floating or unregistered population). The registered population as of 31 December 2012 was 1.36 million.

Pattaya Water Park

Went to Pattaya waterpark on 18th May 2019 and the park was busy but still had a great time with the family. For only 100 Baht per adult and child over 80cm it is great value for money and the prices are for all and not a two tier system where foreigners have to pay more. Will come back again soon.k

Upside Down Pattaya

Do you remember the Lionel Ritchie hit song 'Dancing on the Ceiling' (moreover the film clip ...) from the awesome 80's?...Well, I certainly do (I also reckon it's a great song ...) and whenever I visit the fabulous UPSIDE DOWN HOUSE PATTAYA, I channel a bit of the film clip. This is a compact tourist spot, with a castle, maze, coffee shop and even a gyroscope, to complement the main house attraction. I have visited several times over the years and always find it is both an interesting and amusing (see my YouTube) experience. So yes, I feel it is definitely worth checking out.
