This museum is very good for getting the history of the area. They also provide guided tours in English. I advise visiting this place before visiting anything else because it gives context to other tourist attractions that may not have as much information in English. They have many interactive displays, including a video about mount Fuji in art throughout the ages.

We enjoyed the service of the Tourist information center a couple of times during our stay at Kawaguchiko. This place is real treat for foreigners. Clear English guidance and advise; lots of information and maps available. Worth a visit to guide you through your endeavors around the area.
