If you are in the Silom area this is certainly a place you should pop into. The building, almost 100 years old, is in itself interesting. But it is also a normally functioning library. The coffee shop in the courtyard has good coffee and croissants. Since this is an enterprise fully run by volunteers and relying on donations it is something worthy of our support. The collection consists of books in English on a wide variety of topics. They also accept donations of book collections in other languages, which are then sold at regular intervals or otherwise distributed. Some times there are concerts in the auditorium.

After a 17 hour flight, the last thing we wanted to be bothered with was navigating BKK to get a taxi. I’ll say this, a taxi to hotel in Sukhumvit was about 500 baht, our ride with taxi well was $37 USD. I had some trouble finding my driver (pretty sure I was on the wrong level) and I called the contact number on the website using WhatsApp. The man spoke pretty good English and guided me where to go. That was helpful. The driver helped with our bags, comfortable air conditioned car and it was all very simple. We paid online one day before we arrived. They email a receipt and instructions. These people aren’t hard to contact if things go wrong. Thanks so much!
