Bilbao subway system (Metro Bilbao)

Reviewed By 227ianc - London, United Kingdom

Over 20 years after it opened, people have probably forgotten a time before the metro, one of Bilbao's major regeneration projects, opening in 1995. Norman Foster was in charge of the architecture, design and signage - not many architects have designed signage about a 6000 euro fine if you trespass on the lines - in two languages. It does mean that there is a consistent high design standard throughout. Most famous are probably his worm-like structures emerging from the ststions, now known as “Fosteritos”. Staying in Getxo, we use the efficient, clean, spacious modern metro to reach Bilboa. If you want to forget the architecture, the service and the trains are pretty good also - and a lot cheaper than London....

I second the reviewer before me who said that the station is rivalled by Porto for its beauty - it certainly is, especially at night when it's lit up. Its beautiful though at any time with its wonderful windows and floodlit entrance hall.

Alicante Tram

With the Marq castillo tram stop being right next to our hotel this was a great way to get into the heart of the resort. Luceros being only 2 stops away leaving you with a idyllic walk down the Avenida de Federico soto to the marina .We also used the tram for a return trip to Benidorm only 8 euros return and this service runs every half hour .This is a great way to see the coastline and only takes 1 hour 10 minutes .The trams can get quite busy and you may find yourself standing up for some of the jouney as the service is popular with locals .

Sea Bus Ibiza Town

SeaBus Ibiza Town, the fastest, most direct and fun way to get around Ibiza. From Playa d'en Bossa, Figueretas and Ibiza center in just a few minutes enjoying the best views. A conveyance to enjoy.

Reviewed By Casa85 - Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

This is a fabulous service to get between Play D'en Bossa / Figueretes and the Old Town. Enjoy a drink in the beautiful bar right next to the pick up point at the far end of Bossa beach then hop on board for an exhilarating ride round the headland bringing you in next to the huge yachts and bright lights of the bustling town. Drops you very centrally, is reasonably priced and a far better way to travel than a taxi (Ibiza taxis are notoriously unreliable!). A real highlight of any trip to Ibiza.
