We were picked up at Gatwick and driven to Portsmouth. They driver took them scenic route which was fine with us. We have enough freeway during at home. A day or two later Smith's drove to them cruise terminal in Southhampton. Again, on time, clean car, driver friendly and he pointed out interesting things on Tue route. Good value, we will use them again

Mike at AKM Limos went over and above to ensure my son had a 10th birthday to remember! He arrived in a hummer suited and booted to pick our son up as a surprise, had all his favourite music pre downloaded and even addressed him as Mr Fletcher all day ensuring he felt like a proper VIP. Drove us around portsmouth to all the hot spots and stopped to let him out for photos and even a chip shop for lunch. I would highly recommend AKM limos to anybody looking to add a wow factor to their special day or even just for a trip out. Attention to details was second to none and wouldn’t change any part of their service it was spot on! Thanks again AKM Limos

Park and Ride facility great for either the Historic Dockyard or the city centre. We went to the Historic Dockyard, the bus stops at The Hard interchange for here which is right next to the ships and the ferry port. Buses frequent, every 15 mins, however last bus back is 7pm, so if planning an evening meal in the city this may not suit, would be good if this time could be extended. Great value for money at only £4 parking for the day, definitely takes the hassle out of driving and finding a parking space in a car park in the city, and spending a lot more to park! Well sign-posted from the major motorways, plenty parking spaces available, covered waiting area and indoor waiting area with toilets (both ends). Informative, easy-to-understand route maps and information displayed. Friendly bus drivers. Would recommend the Park and Ride for a convenient and hassle-free experience.

PORTSMOUTH TO ST MALO (12hrs) This was my first experience staying overnight on a ferry and taking a car on, and the process was smooth and problem free from start to finish. Booked our tickets online with ease and received vital information nearer to our departure date. We were guided through the check in and customs easily by the staff on the ground at the ferry terminal in Portsmouth. We booked a 2-berth cabin for the night which was clean, nicely presented and perfect sleeping quarters for the night. It was all really nifty and exciting to be honest, and despite our crossing being a bit rough, we slept fine. Lots of different restaurants to dine in, catering to different prices and taste. WiFi could be access in public areas and worked fine. Staff onboard were very polite and friendly. Access to get on deck and taste the salty sea breeze (and get your bollocks frozen off!) was easy and we even saw one young woman jogging on the top deck as we set sail. I could go on and on. Safe to say that Brittany Ferries gets a glowing reference from me.

We use this a couple of times per year for either a day trip or for a couple of nights stay as it is very easy access direct from the Gosport Ferry. It takes 22 minutes to cross and the views from the top deck in nice weather are great. We like the 10 minute stroll down the pier at Ryde and then stop for a great cup of hot chocolate in a local venue. We always thought it was the dearest water crossing in the world but were told this trip that is actually the fourth, well beaten by the Hayling Ferry and the Hovercraft. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and being able to get either 'Recycled Teenager' or Forces discounts makes it very reasonable.
