Nice and clean for the price, but challenging for English-only speakers
Reviewed By Don DWe were in Guangzhou for some family business and my wife found this restaurant at a good price. This is a very moderately priced hotel: about $70 a night which is a pretty good rate in a city like Guangzhou. As important is that it was conveniently located to the U.S. Embassy where we were going. In addition, it was clean, had a good view of the waterways, and not too far (walking distance) from shopping and eating (including a Starbucks). This is a difficult place to stay if you don't have an english speaker. Fortunately, my wife speaks Mandarin so it worked for us. The bathroom and shower are glassed in stalls right off sleeping area, making it inconvenient for adults with children to stay. The room had wifi but not very fast. For the price I would stay there again with just my wife on business, but would not stay there with more family.

Convenient, Reasonable Prize
Reviewed By Thorks7 day Inn is a chain of affordable hotels in Guangzhou. I felt my choice of staying in the shangxiajiu branch was excellent, as the closest next hotel was 3x more expensive. There's a small lane just opposite the hotel where locals shopped for their meat, vegetables, etc. Plenty of small restaurants, convenient shops, 7-11 and a 3 min walk to the Shangxiajiu pedestrian street. Hotel provides clean bath towels sealed in bags, giving you added confidence of cleanliness. No breakfast, but that's the last thing you worried about, as there are plenty of shops serving authentic Cantonese congee and noodles. From this location as base, I Di-Di my way to major attractions. I learnt that using the premium cars on the Di-Di app is only a few RMB extra, but the cars are smart and spacious. Room and bathroom is spacious and at SG$50+ per day, I felt it was very much worth it.

Cheap but not cheerful
Reviewed By wreckitThis budget is located across the junction from the mall of the Huangsha subway station. Like most 7 days Inns, it is carved out from a dilapidated building. The room is simple but not so clean, there is not even a window or wardrobe. You cant get more basic than that. The aircon took an hour to bring the room to a right temperature. This hotel has a cockroach infestation problem. Your nose will tell you also that there fish wholesale centre is right behind the hotel. At 220RMB, I would consider it not so cheap for this crap.

Good budget
Reviewed By quest4moreWas affordable and very nicely furnished. Location was near enough Pazhou Complex to catch a cab to and fro conveniently. Only catch for this location is the need to hop on a $1 bike/bicycle to the main road to flag a cab. After understanding how the transport arrangement works out, would stay here again.
