Nestled along a natural harbor on the Indian Ocean, Dar es Salaam is a multicultural city, home to African Tanzanians, Arabic and South Asian communities, British and German expatriates, Catholics, Lutherans and Muslims. This diversity in people is reflected in the culture: the city boasts international cuisine ranging from traditional Tanzanian barbecue and Zanzibari food to Thai, Chinese and American restaurants. Its vibrant music scene has witnessed a rise in Bongo Flava, a form of hip hop.

The room was not ready for check in at 4pm. The owner did not honor Booking.Coms Genius Level free room upgrade, asking me to pay an extra USD60 if I wanted a better room. Communication is terrible. There was no response to my requests on the app, and reception had no idea of my booking when i3 arrived. There is water leakage from the toilet, the rooms are shabby, and not sound proofed. There are no free toiletries as stated, other than cheap soap in the bathrooms. When I asked for water, I was informed they have filtered water which the guests have to request. I did, and the water arrived after another twenty minutes. Overall the place looks like it needs a good overhaul, and it doesn't look like the owner bothers to put any money into it, just makes money. The rooms are definitely not worth the price. The beds are comfortable though, and there's consistent Wi-Fi so far. Not impressed. Wouldn't stay here again, or recommend it to others.

This hotel doesn’t offer the luxuries but is an acceptable accommodation venue for the budget conscious traveler. It’s reasonably close to the airport and avoids the worst traffic to access the airport. The internet was reliable when I was there. Its a tall 11-story building with a fantastic view of Dar from the rooftop restuarant. The manager was friendly with a very hands-on approach and went out of his way to help. There is however scope to upgrade the breakfast menu.

Twice in less than 5 weeks the hotel cancelled my confirmed booking.com bookings with a mere phone call; the explanations were thin veiled and caused chaos in my travel plans. Their booking system is not in sync with booking.com or other online booking systems causing undue stress in planning and organizing a trip; never trust the confirmed notices unless you have received their sad calls.

This hotel was booked for me as a layover in between flights - it seems there aren't many hotels near the airport in Dar. As a single traveller I was a little bit intimidated by the area, although admittedly arrived at dark. The room was clean but small and extremely basic. There was a loud party going on outside until late and the air conditioning very noisy (but at least there was AC). The windows were faulty and the mosquito screens only covered half the window. I was a bit frightened to have someone continually banging on my door at 1am. It is fine as a very basic layover place to rest, and definitely was clean, but I wouldn’t recommend for single female travellers.

The location is very good. The hotel located in nice area. The service is very bad the rooms stinky and the linen in a very bad condition. If you decide to go there you should check your linen very well cause probably they haven't change it. The breakfast is the worst ever and you shouldn't count on there breakfast they serve 2 pieces of bread and 2 eggs with watermelon piece. and yesterday it was 2 pieces of bread only with bad coffee . Finally in our last night breakfast they are not here and no one serving the breakfast at 7:40am.
