Great hotel, great location
Reviewed By HappyHols630This was a lovely experience from beginning to end. We had a park view room which was spacious. View was limited to a treed area to the side of main hotel but this didn't matter to us. Breakfast was terrific on the large sunny terrace, Eggs, crepes, pancakes available to order and a wide range of breads, fruit, cereal, cake, juices, meats, cheese etc. While waiters would bring you coffee if required you could also get your own. Sparkling wine was also available if that's your thing. The sparrows were a bit of a nuisance at times but also entertaining and that's part of the open air eating experience I suppose. The gardens pools and restaurants are very well kept and you're free to grab a lounger and sit at the pool or find some shade to relax. The Capannina Bar/Restaurant, beside the main pool area, was great for drinks and lunch. Waiter service to the pool area would have enhanced the experience. The resort runs from the main street down to the lake front - so you also have the option of a lake swim within a few minutes walk from your room. Sailing du Lac, while not part of the hotel is attached to the grounds and you can hire bikes, sup, kayaks there if required. Housecleaning was great. We had a hairdryer replaced and staff checked back with us to ensure we were happy. A drawer that had come off its rails was also noted and fixed without us having to report it. The only very minor negative was that there were not proper cups or glasses in the room. Maybe this was due to previous covid regulations and had yet to return to the usual arrangements. We don't think that we would look anywhere else if returning to Riva. Grazie Mille.

Reviewed By kavandenhaAmazing hotel with panoramic views. We spent our honeymoon here. The hotel has a lovely wellness area with a variation of sauna's and a pool. The restaurant has a great breakfast buffet and serves a different themed diner menu daily. At the bar you can order excellent pastas for a late lunch. Rooms are clean, modern and the beds are big and soft. Would definitely return as soon as our budget allows it.

Not what i expected
Reviewed By 915brigittapMy husband and I waited for this trip to the mountains for so long, i found this resort and thought this will be the best place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Well we end up leaving this resort after 1,5 days… we booked half board so breakfast/light lunch/ dinner was included but it was dissapointing. Doesn’t worth the money, the resort itself overall amazing but the staff wasn’t helpful at all, they didn’t even ask why we would like to leave after 1,5 days. Location is amazing but nothing else… for 2800€ we expected better.

Reviewed By oliweraarthis time we stayed 5 nights in one of the beautiful suites. although the weather was not as good as usual there we enjoyed a relaxed time again. the swimming pool is perfect for everyone and the restaurant is great with excellent service.

Great all inclusive hotel
Reviewed By Anthony HThere is really something for everyone here. Often the all inclusive hotels have large volumes of food and drink but a poor quality. That is definitely not the case here. The food and service were excellent. With free drinks all day until 11 pm you do not need to think twice about having that espresso at the end of your meal or a cocktail before dinner. There was a great selection of wines that were also very good. There are 4 clay tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor pool (there are plenty of lounge chairs spread out all over the grounds), a gym and of course the surrounding area, so there are plenty of ways to work off all of the food you eat. The views of Meran are beautiful. the rooms were comfy and quiet, the staff friendly and helpful. There are also free tennis lessons and daily hikes or other activities, which are organized by the hotel. There is even a room with a ping pong table, children's billiard table and two Foosball tables, so teenagers also have some activities. For the smaller children there is a playground with a few swings and a trampolin. It is simply a great place to relax and enjoy your vacation.

More a promise than reality

Yes, the hotel offers two pools, yes it is in a quiet area, has a nice view to Meran and the mountains and some of the service staff are really friendly, especially Ivan. And yes, the the hotel and pool area are really clean. The reality is also, that the rooms are very small and our rooms were heated up by the sun (there was no AC), that it was hard to fell asleep at night. Our rooms were renovated, but if you consider to take sports equipment with you (bike gear, hiking gear) - you are not able to take that to your room. The service at the breakfast was really great, Ivan is very helpful. But the variety of the food was not really convincing. Everyday more or less the same, bread was not of a good quality. The food in the restaurant was ok too, the waiters really were taking care of Covit19 situation and were always cleaning tables and seats before usage. This was really positiv. The two pool areas are nice, some umbrellas for the sun are missing, one of the pools was not heated, although we complained, nothing changed. Very strange was that the pool was cleaned in between 10 and 12 am - a time people already used the pool. Also we didn‘t like the gardener to cut trees and bushes during the day at the pool area for hours and causing a lot of noise. Overall the stay was ok, but we won‘t choose the location again. We felt like paying guests, partly not really welcome.

The kitchen is magnificent with wonderful menus from the region. A true, well rounded experience. Finally, the spa and swimming pool over looking the Alps completes the beautiful experience.
