Leaving underwhelmed
Reviewed By adriennszlapakWe spent 3 nights here and were quite underwhelmed and disappointed. While it's understandable that Covid and the lockdowns took a toll on all hotels, the Swiss Garden Beach Resort just looks dirty and dishevelled. The private beach was not cleaned during our whole stay - empty drink bottles, masks and cigarette butts that greeted us on the first day were still there on the last. The hotel was fully booked and staff could obviously not keep up - people kept using the pools without rinsing after the beach and wearing sweatpants instead of proper swimming attire. Housekeeping never managed to clean our room properly (see pictures of what we found post cleaning). All in all, the prices they charge should warrant much better service.

Reviewed By Neshall ZOur stay at Holiday Villa Cherating was the best. We booked a beach-front villa with a private pool which was very comfortable. The resort invested in refurbishment recently so you get really nice rooms and a wonderful experience. The pre-booked steamboat for dinner was delicious. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. There were plenty of activities to enjoy within the resort and 3 public pools for both adults and kids. Overall the resort was clean, lots of landscape/greenery...perfect for weddings and parties. We would definitely be going back again soon. Next we will be booking the newly built KL villa which has 4 bedrooms and perfect for 8 pax and it is the closest to sea.

Reviewed By ELAYTEERating this as a tourist on holiday. Timurbay Seafront is like an AirBnB style accommodation, not a typical hotel. A variety of different "hosts" rent out different apartments so the quality will differ. This specific review is for: A Junior Suite by Subhome - Room number Block A, Floor 3, Room 02 and booked through booking.com In summary, I would not use Subhome again, but would consider using another of the companies at the same site. When looking inside their rooms they looked a lot cleaner and better maintained. This is not a typical hotel experience, but like an airbnb. Pick up your keys and then no room service, bottled water, no wifi. They had the potential to be quite good if they just solved the CLEANLINESS issue. It had adequate furniture and furnishings for a short stay, free parking and good security on site. The location is nice and if you have a car, the restaurants, shops and town are easy to get to. The gym is quite good offering full squat racks. The massive downside is that the suite is very dirty. OVERPOWERING smell of mold/damp as the bathroom lacks proper ventilation (The wind does not suck moisture out, just blows it further into the apartment). In just two days, even clothes that remained in suitcases stink of damp Dirty footprints on the wall in the single bedroom Visibly dusty shelves and lack of cleaning under the bed, sofa etc Long womens hair all over the floors, bathroom and washing machine Washing machine stinks of damp and has not been run through a cleaning cycle Tables have stains on the surface Your feet will be black from dirt if walking in the apartment barefoot Bedding has lots of old stains on it Towel visibly used, even had a hole in it! Honestly, it looks like they just put on new sheets and towels and called it a day. Overall I would avoid subhome and I am glad we only booked for a short stay. It is hard to feel relaxed in a dirty environment. Little things to make it feel homely are also missing, e.g. a single mug for hot drinks, no forks. The layout can be a little confusing as there are two tower blocks and parking is staggered. We checked in late after staff had left so only received instructions via whatsapp in Malay. Luckily we could figure out how to get keys and where to park etc but it might be a struggle for those without mobile phones.

Poorly Maintained
Reviewed By Cruiser306504The hotel is very well designed but maintaince is very poor with very low standard of hygiene. The first thing we noticed was the green fungus swimming pool, so dirty and murky was unable to see the bottom of pool. WiFi did not extend to our room, although we were centrally located. Regarding our room... the bath mat looked like an old grey rag with 3 holes and tears. One of the bathtowels was an equally dirty grey. The bedsheet was stained. The sliding door to the terrace, lock fell to the floor in bits. In the Breakfast room, the whole time we were in there, noticed sausages on the floor with the staff simply walking around them.. Not cleaned up.. Disgusting!!! The glasses were both th stained and still dirty. In conclusion, all of these things could easily be avoided and rectified with a little bit care and attention to detail by management and staff.

Poor & Dirty Common Facilities.
Reviewed By Jeyen rThis is private owned apartments, the indoor apartments, room. bathroom is very clean and well taken care. Good job by the owners and caretakers. But the common area such corridors, lift is such bad shape and smelly. The lift in block B is so dirty and can seen dirty stain on the lift and smells. The corridors is not lighted well and late night is pretty creepy as well. The pool is normal and slight greenish. Beach is about 100m walking distance but when we went one of the us got stung by Jelly fish and the resort workers don't even know nearest medical facilities. Once chinese cafe by the beach but kind of pricey. If you would like to go then dont go with high expectations. If the common facilities is been improved then its great place to relax and rejuvenate.

It's totally spoil my mood not enjoy and memorized trip. the worst ever villa i stayed . 1. No hygiene (Left Over garment from pervious guest) 2. Pest issue every the headboard no wipe 3. Guest supplies (Curtain remote shortage, informed maintanance who attend my room said will inform housekeeping at the end no one attend) 4.Oily plate keep inside cabinet 5.Private Pool deck bulb fused and deck wooden floor not proper maintain look like anytime will be broke and feel down when step 6. provided coffee machine without the capsule in villa

Simple, clean, friendly staff and a great location for a short stay
Reviewed By ELAYTEEStayed for just 2 nights. Rooms are basic but clean and homely. Not an ultra modern hotel however it is nice for a short break. All basic amenities provided, although our fridge was not working. The sofa could also do with a refresh as its a bit worn, but only a minor complaint and not a big deal. Room was clean, had good wifi and powerful AC. We had a downstairs room. There is free parking and the chalets are right next to a lovely clean beach. A hotel shower is provided at the compound exit to wash off sand. Front desk staff here are very friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping and security are also nice. Breakfast was not a buffet, but we had the option to choose from a menu. I guess due to a lack of guests, as we arrived just after international travel reopened due to covid. I assume not enough guests to make a buffet worthwhile. Portion size was decent, quality was good, juices are fresh. Chicken with my nasi lemak was very small and half bones, but again.. only a minor complaint. The only slight downside is that the walls and floor are thin. E.g. we can hear people walking up to the floor above, or having a conversation outside the room through the walls. It may wake you up if you are a light sleeper. We paid around £29 / 170myr per night for a twin room. It is good value and we would return again in the future.

Amazing place, maybe not right time
Reviewed By OmVigneshWent on short trip during Eid holidays with family, 2 nights. Overall trip was good, just the place seems aged a bit and restaurant service really need improvement. Room/Chalet - the house we stayed in named Negeri Sembilan. Two bedroom and one living. Its a chalet by near the beach which I prefer as more convenient compared staying in hotel room. Room is nice, mostly working condition except main bathroom water drainage wasn't good enough. Probably it aged over time. Would really recommend an upgrade here. Living area is small but not much an issue, just AC need servicing I guess. There's small pool size probably 12" x 9", its perfect for kids as the depth around 4ft. Location: Great, just by the main federal road. Many nearby local convenient store around. There are also couple local restaurants nearby, but we had issues since its Eid holiday all were closed as majority were Muslim shops I believe. Its next to the beach and not many hotels surroundings. So beach and expect less crowd besides Holiday Villa's guess. Good place to see sunrise in the morning. There's also a large swimming pool at common area, water slides, and some fountain which kids will enjoy. Some down sides: Since it was holiday season expecting lots of local restaurant will be closed, we had challenges with meals. Decided to dine in for all meals however the service from the restaurant was poor. Long waiting time for room service or even going to restaurant itself. No buffet meals except during breakfast which is free. For dinner, we have to wait 45 mins for first item to be served and all items took an hour. On top of that the food quality is also poor considering this hotel which I believe have couple stars rating. Some food are clearly frozen items instead of fresh made - at least that what we felt and not well cooked. This could probably be the affect of long Covid-19 outbreak with manpower shortage etc.. The person who took our order was at one point in the kitchen preparing the meal. I wouldn't put in on the worker as they are trying their best, need management to step up on this.
