Reviewed By Priska EWe really enjoyed our stay here: beautiful location with swimming pool, nice appartment and employees who always tried to help us, although we do not speak Portuguese. We are a family with our daughters of 9 and 14 years. Pousada Altenhaus is also a super location with children.

Reviewed By Ruth TIf you are looking for noisy motorcycles passing by til late night, old gloomy chalets, irregular hot water (only in showers), non working WiFi, naked bulb lamps hanging from the ceiling, breakfast stated as til 10,30am but no reffil after 10am, clear demand for full settlement of the bill at check in, old tube TV with non working remote control, and very rude impolite owners You will get all the above and more at the Pousada Mon Desir.

Peaceful and romantic
Reviewed By Zoe_GlobetrotterMy husband and I spent our honeymoon here in Visconde de Maua. We stayed in the montana chalet at the Pousada Jardim das aguas. The chalet was very spacious, with a lovely comfy bed and open fireplace. We especially enjoyed the 'oforo', which was a type of outdoor hot tub (but without the bubbles). The breakfast offers a good spread of homemade breads, cheeses and fruit. The homemade cheese dough balls (pão de queijo) were as light as air! The hotel is completely surrounded by nature and directly next to 'Cachoreira escorrega' and the national park entrance. Very few places are open during the week, so I would advice you visit during the weekend and holidays.

Terrible rooms!!!
Reviewed By Wagner Marques SFrogs in the shower, wasps and spider webs all over. The rooms are not clean at all, everything very old!!! The only thing I liked about this hotel was the food served. NO WIFI IN THE ROOMS!!! The only wifi available is in the diner room and it barely works.

Reviewed By Gregor Ma place to relax with a marvellous view over the busy city of rio. it is very clean and the hosts provide you with everything you need. breakfast is good and if you are lucky you will be able to see the little apes living in the trees around (very cute!) tipp: take the suite! it has it's own terrace and hammock and the apes live right there ;)

Reviewed By Ana Paula VThis hotel is very simple and the best they offer are the children's activities. They ride horses and boats, go to the farm and feed the animals, and kids love it. For the adults, I don't think that have a lot to do since they have to go with the childrens because the hotel don't make a list of who are with the recreation team. The food is very common. We expected more since the hotel produces his won products. The bedroom is small and don't have a heat system. The towels are very old. Wifi only works, poorly, at the reception and pool's bar.
